New Guinea Impatiens are a fantastic choice for sun or shade, though they like shade and moisture. Plants are covered with beautiful, flat-faced flowers.

The most important thing to remember about impatiens is to water them regularly. Keep them moist, but not too wet. If the plants drys out, they will lose their leaves. If you over-water them, this could encourage fungal diseases. Remember container plants will need more water.

Summer's coming. Let us bring it to your doorstep.

SuperTunias will tolerate a little shade, but this beautiful, lush flowering plant does best with full sun and regular fertilizing. It is self cleaning, so no dead heading. Free flowing flowers trail down the basket. SuperTunias are a great choice for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds.

Petunias are tolerant of heat so you don't have to water them regularly. A thorough watering once a week should be sufficient...though as this is a hanging basket, they might require more frequent watering especially if the weather has been very dry. Though not necessary, removing faded and dead flowers will prolong blooming.

Fuschias enjoy full to part shade. Cascades of two-toned flowers dangle over hanging foliage. Water fuschias a little more in hot weather, but be careful not to water too much or the roots will rot. They thrive with a little fertilizer every couple weeks, but they will bloom all summer with or without fertilizer.

The biggest thing to remember is that too much hot weather will weaken the plant, so make sure it gets plenty of shade.

Ivy Geraniums                

like sunshine and partial shade. The same lush flower clusters and attractive foliage you expect in geranium, but on a trailing plant.

Allow to dry between waterings, then water thoroughly. During the winter, water them much less...but don't let the roots dry out. To encourage blooming, deadhead spent flowers. If you want them to be bushy, pinch the stems. Half-strength water-soluble fertilizer is helpful in the growing months, but not necessary.

Calibrachoa are also called "million bells", and this relatively new species should be kept in fairly moist soil, especially in full sun areas so they don't succumb to the intense heat of summer. As these are in a hanging basket, they will require frequent watering.

They enjoy occassional fertilizer, again, a bit more frequently in a hanging basket.

Deadheading is not required as this is a "self-cleaning" flower, which means dead blooms rapidly drop off. You can pinch prune Calibrachoa to encourage more rapid and complete regrowth.
